In January 2023, the Bioethics Postgraduate Students Committee (PSC) launched an exciting new initiative to develop a network of academics and postgraduate students working in/studying bioethics. Postgraduate students are informally mentored by academics, many of whom were themselves on the PSC committee in the past. The primary aim of the initiative is to foster a growing bioethics community. Postgraduate students also benefit from advice, support, and encouragement from their mentors. This could relate to the postgraduate student’s degree, future career, or research interests.
The first cycle of the initiative runs for twelve months, until January 2024, and will culminate with a social event for all mentors/mentees to come together. It is anticipated that mentors and mentees will arrange to meet, virtually or in-person, between two and four times during this period.
Recruitment for the second cycle of the mentoring network is now open! Please do let us know if you would like to participate in the network by filling this form.
We would also be very grateful if you could send a copy of your CV to lydiatsiakiri@gmai.com. This is to help us match mentors and mentees.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the network organisers, Cat, Emily or Lydia, at: caitriona.cox@thisinstitute.cam.ac.uk, emily.ottley@kcl.ac.uk, lydiatsiakiri@gmail.com.
